Two pieces · neither for sale

Pono OS, in two pieces.

We build Pono OS for our own computers first. It is two pieces right now: a pocket app and a desktop build. Here is the honest state of each.

The pocket app

Private testing

An assistant named Pono that lives on your iPhone, and you talk to it. Say Hey Pono and it is listening. It keeps a chat notebook you can read back later, and it remembers only what you tell it to keep. Connect a pair of Ray-Ban Meta glasses and Pono can use their camera, so you can ask about what you are looking at.

It is in private testing with a small group right now, real enough to use every day. When it opens to a wider test, this page will say how to join.

The desktop build

In development

A desktop build of Pono OS, meant for the kind of computer that sits on a desk and stays on. It is in development: parts of it run, but there is no installable release yet, and we are not pretending otherwise.

It grows out of the same work as the pocket app, shaped for a bigger screen and a longer session.

What this is not, yet

There is no store, no price, and no sign-up. We would rather show what exists and what state it is in than sell something that is still being built. When a piece is ready for other people, you will read it here first.
